Meet Our Pastor
Dr. Joe Bufford
A native of Georgia, Joe Bufford is a graduate of Atlanta Christian College (B.S.), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Div.), and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (D. Min.). He has been in ministry since 1991 and served as pastor to three churches in Georgia before coming to Hillcrest in February of 2013. Joe films with and serves as a pro staff leader for BuckVentures TV and The Woodsman as featured on the Outdoor Channel and the Sportsman Channel, respectively. He enjoys big game hunting as well as waterfowl hunting with his Labrador. He is the publisher of The Outdoorsman Devotional, 365 Days with God (2026). He has spoken at outdoor banquets and men’s events across the country since 2005. He has been married to his wife, Nicole, since 1994 and together they have three children, two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren. Joe spent nine years serving as a law enforcement chaplain to multiple agencies and both of their sons serve in law enforcement. In addition to hunting, he enjoys golf and running.
